CNIS offers instructor courses that are open to Canadian and international surgeons and obstetricians. The instructor courses usually run over 2-3 full days.

The primary goal of CNIS instructor courses is to ensure that there are a sufficient number of instructors trained to conduct instructors courses in Africa, who then in a train-the-trainer fashion, will be able to conduct provider (or student) courses. Those who complete the instructor courses will be in a position to make a valuable contribution to surgical training in areas where the burden of surgical disease is most urgent. Instructors are also able to plan and implement provider courses. This training is particularly important as our courses can then be made available in more centres and other countries.
