CNIS teams with Ottawa simulation lab

On October 16, a Safe Surgery Saves Lives (SSSL) nursing course was held in Vancouver. 8 perioperative nurses were certified as CNIS Safe Surgery Saves Lives nursing instructors.
On October 21, CNIS held a Structured Operative Obstetrics Instructors Course in Ottawa. The SOO course has 11 participants and was conducted in the new university of Ottawa Skills and simulation Centre.
On October 22 and 23 CNIS held an Essential Surgical Skills Instructors Course, also at the uOSSC in Ottawa. The ESS Instructors Course was the biggest ever to be held, with 34 participants! Both the ESS and the SOO courses are pre-requisites for surgeons and obstetricians to become a certified instructor for CNIS.
