Help us build an Injury Control Centre in Bamako, Mali
CNIS has established two Injury Control centres in East Africa: ICC -Uganda & ICC – Tanzania. CNIS is now working to build a third centre in Mali, as such infrastructure does not yet exist in West Africa.
Mali is one of the poorest countries of the world. The life expectancy at birth is 51.8 years, with a high maternal mortality ratio (970/100,000 live births). Only 48% of births have a skilled attendant and there are only 3 physicians per 100,000 people. The Injury Control Centre – Mali will provide training in First Aid, Trauma training, traffic safety for children and other courses to create safer communities throughout Mali.
It will cost $100,000 to establish the ICC – Mali, including the venue, staff training and teaching equipment. We are now selling ‘bricks’ from $ 100 (shingles) to $5000 (foundation blocks) and ask that you help us.
When you buy a brick you will receive a tax receipt for the full amount. Like all donations to CNIS, your donation will be matched by the Canadian International development Agency. You will also get your name on our virtual brick wall below.
Our Injury Control Center will benefit West African communities for generations to come. With your help, we will be one brick closer!
