With the collaboration of African and Canadian surgeons, CNIS has implemented programs and courses in 8 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. CNIS also teaches Trauma Team Training in Guyana, South America and hold instructors courses for surgeons and obstetricians, as well as Public Engagement courses and activities in Canada.
Where We Work
“What we’re trying to do through this program is work through the infrastructure of the countries that we’re in. We work with our medical colleagues at the various medical schools in the various countries that we work in to try to increase the capacity. The doctors are so worked off their feet, I can tell you, that the last thing on their mind is teaching the next generation of students--and that’s where we come in.”
