CIDA Support

Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
In 1997, the CNIS received our first one-year grant of $172,000 dollars from CIDA for our work in Africa. Now, fifteen years and twelve agreements later, CNIS  has signed a 3-year $2.100.000 agreement with CIDA. Since 1995, CNIS has completed five agreements with the CIDA Project Facility, four contracts with Multilateral Branch and, by February, 2010, one 3-year program. Results-based quarterly and annual reports, one CIDA Evaluation Mission in 2000, and an external evaluation in 2008 confirm the effectiveness of the CNIS work and the support of CNIS by its African partners. The CIDA Program branch provides core funding and funding for public engagement.
